Acacia Receives HUB Zone Certification from
Small Business Administration

Saint Petersburg, FL –  September 4, 2003

Acacia Consulting, Inc., a leading edge provider of advanced services in
the design, development, construction and maintenance of computing
systems, announced today that  it has successfully completed the
requirements for Federal HUB Zone business certification. The HUBZone
Empowerment Contracting Program stimulates economic development
and creates jobs in urban and rural communities by providing Federal
Contracting preferences to small businesses. These preferences go to small
businesses that obtain HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business
Zone) certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone.

Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone is a federally supported
classification for government procurement. The program is administered
by the Small Business Administration and provides smaller companies
located in rural communities an equitable opportunity to bid on
government contracts. Congress created the HUBZones program as part of
the 1997 Small Business Reauthorization Act. Congress intended the
program to be a partnership between the public and private sector, which
will leverage the entrepreneurial strength and community involvement of
small businesses in order to create jobs and foster successful welfare to
work initiatives in economically distressed areas of the country. The goal
of the program is to provide small businesses with contracting
opportunities that will create jobs, empower the communities and build
confidence.
